How Much Seed Do You Need?
How many melon seeds do you really need? A packet has anywhere from 10-25 seeds, depending on variety. You need 3-4 per hill.
Get your gardening friends together and create a seed swap. We’re both growing cantaloupe and spinach this year – so you buy the melon and I’ll get the greens!
No gardening friends? Make some…or join this free forum, where you can find the seeds you’ve been looking for, and share your excess seeds with others.
In the forum, traditional swaps are a 2-way trade. Interested parties will contact you by phone or email.
If you don’t have any seeds to offer, don’t dismay, you may still find someone willing to help you out with your request.

Happy gardening!
Very nice post! Exchanging seeds is a perfect idea. Not many friends of mine are gardeners but I often give them fruits of my work. Last year some of my friends were even gifted with melons and they were so happy that I have grown them on my own! It’s not easy in my climate but with the greenhouse everything is possible! I have bought Muskmelon variety from https://gardenseedsmarket.com/muskmelon-malaga-f1-seeds-cucumis-melo-13-seeds.html where in packet there are 13 seeds. I had 4 plants out of it.
