6 Potato Planting Methods

By PreparednessMama on July 20, 2018 * 3 Comments

This week I’m planting my potatoes in a makeshift cage made of a bit of wire fencing. It’s nothing fancy but with the addition of some straw and a soil it will make a fine potato tower. Last year I planted potatoes in a laundry basket and that turned out pretty well.

I fear that it is too late to start growing potatoes in Texas. It was 80 degrees yesterday and the warm season crops are the only thing available in the local nurseries. We shall see.

Grow a Good Life has an extensive article you should really check out – 6 Potato Planting Methods. It’s worth it just for the growing tips and ideas.

Thank you for hosting and featuring my potato post. I am looking forward to seeing how your potato tower does. I can’t wait to dig in the soil. We are still waiting for the snow to melt and the ground to thaw.
