National Preparedness Month Challenge – Continue Your Emergency Preparedness Plans
Congratulations, you made it! You were invited to spend the National Preparedness Month thinking, planning, reading and doing the things your family needs to be prepared for an emergency.
So…How did you do?
Did you find that you have enough food and supplies to shelter in place but (as I found) cannot survive with your current 72 hour kit outside your home? Maybe you have finally decided it’s time to do something about your pet and emergencies or get your car kits together. If we have been at all successful, you at least identified the weakness in your emergency preparedness plan and are encouraged to do something about it.
If you missed the challenge – it’s not too late! Begin today with day 1 and review where you are now and make plans for where you need to be. There is safety in being prepared.
Your emergency preparedness plan may always be under construction. It seems that I can always find another thing I could add to mine – another can of wheat, another package of batteries. The important thing is don’t be scared to do it, just keep going. It is possible to be prepared for any emergency if you do it, one step at a time!
The National Preparedness Month Challenge page will get you started.
