Once you have stored all this food – you better figure out a way to incorporate it into your daily menu. Here are a few of my favorite food storage recipes and other’s I’ve found around the web. Hopefully you’ll find some recipes that work for your family too.
Blender Pancakes can be made with any kind of grain that resembles wheat. Substitute Spelt berries, Rye berries or Kamut. No flour required.
Ingredients
1 cup wheat, uncooked
1 ½ cups milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 tablespoons oil
Combine wheat and 1 cup milk in blender. Blend on high for 1 minute. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Cook on a hot griddle until finished and serve with your favorite toppings. NOTE: you can substitute powdered milk. Add 4 tablespoons non-instant milk or ½ cup of instant milk powder to the wheat. Then use the same proportion of water as fresh milk from the recipe.
