Prepared for Christmas: Fire Safety Gifts

Fire Safety Gift Ideas
Fire Safety Gift Ideas

We did the fire escape ladder directions earlier this month, but there are still many more fire safety gifts we can give! Especially during the busiest home fire season of the year. Thanks to those chestnut roasting on an open fire, and bright lights left on un-watered decorated trees, you need to be careful. That original image of Christmas cheer doesn’t look so merry and bright anymore if you have a home fire. So, with a few loving gifts, everyone’s home can return to that merry and bright spot.

Fire Extinguishers

Yeah, I know nothing says I love you like a fire extinguisher. But it is a practical and fire safety conscious gift that you can give. Besides every home is required to have them by code.

Fire alarms and Carbon Monoxide alarms

These are great fire safety gifts for people that live in older model homes since building codes didn’t require them in every room until the 90’s (I assume since my home didn’t have them in every room). Most homes still don’t have any kind of carbon monoxide alarm either. Just one can save a life, and a home.

I like your idea to get carbon monoxide alarms since it can easily save your life. It’s sad to hear about entire families that have died in their sleep because of carbon monoxide. I think it’s also a good idea to put together a fire safety kit with and extinguisher, fire blanket, and fire hood as a gift.
